Comprehensive IV Therapy + Extended Peripheral IV Skills Build a strong foundation in IV therapy while gaining additional time and instruction focused specifically on peripheral IV insertion. The Comprehensive IV Therapy Training Program includes essential PIV insertion fundamentals as part of its broader coverage of peripheral and central vascular access devices. This expanded course adds more detailed PIV instruction and two additional hours of hands-on practice for nurses who want greater confidence with peripheral IV access. Extended PIV Skills Include: - Additional online instruction covering PIV access, techniques, and troubleshooting - Expanded guidance on vein and site selection, equipment, insertion technique, and catheter stabilization - Additional hands-on PIV insertion practice using realistic training manikins - Practice confirming successful catheter placement through simulated blood return - More time to refine technique, troubleshoot challenges, and receive instructor feedback Course Format: Comprehensive IV Therapy: Approximately 6 hours of online coursework plus in-person skills lab, including PIV insertion fundamentals Extended PIV Skills: Additional online training plus 2 additional hours of focused, hands-on PIV insertion practice Total In-Person Training: Approximately 6 hours (plus lunch break) This combined course is ideal for nurses seeking comprehensive IV therapy education with additional instruction and practice to strengthen their peripheral IV insertion skills, confidence, and clinical readiness.
